What is Startup Riot JOIN?
Normal people might call JOIN a "career fair" (we used to call it a career fair, too). But this isn't like getting a job with a large company. This is about JOINing a startup - a place that has a mission to change the world.

Why are you doing JOIN?
Startups have unique issues when it comes to hiring employees. Specifically most startups don't have the bandwidth to deal with the deluge of resumes that come when posting job openings. That's why Startup Riot JOIN is designed to alleviate this issue and ensure that both the recruiters and the job seekers have a great experience.

Can I just show up for the event?
No - if you are not pre-registered and pre-cleared to attend JOIN, you will not be permitted to attend.

Is there any cost to attend the event?
There is no fee required from job seekers. We trust that if you apply to attend and are approved, that you will show up. Realize that putting on this event is a large undertaking and we expect everyone that applies to attend will do so if approved.

Recruiting startups must apply and pay the nominal fee to participate and recruit at the event. Because of the low cost of this event, if you pay and are approved to recruit we are unable to refund your registration fee for any reason.

How many startups will be recruiting at the event?
We anticipate on accepting approximately 20 startups to each JOIN event.

Why should I attend as a job seeker?
If you really want to work in a dynamic, exciting environment our JOIN events will be the place to find those kinds of jobs. But if you want to live in cubicle purgatory, that's okay too. Ginormous, Inc. needs people like you and we need people to fill those jobs so the rest of us can do more exciting gigs.

Why should I attend to recruit for a startup?
If you are frustrated by a lack of quality or lack of fit with the applications you receive, you need our JOIN events. Our event isn't about quantity, it is about quality. Although we get a large number of job seekers who apply for our events, we may invite as few as half of the applicants. Why? We want only the best candidates at our event and those who fit the culture and philosophy of startups. Plus, we want job seekers and recruiters to walk away from the day happy and satisfied that it was time well spent.

When do applications to attend open?
Applications for recruiting startups are open now.

Applications for job seekers will open up approximately thirty days prior to each recruiting event.

When is the deadline to apply to attend?
Due to constraints on printing badges, programs, etc. we will stop accepting job seeker applications about 5 days before each JOIN event. Hiring startup applications will end approximately 7 days before each JOIN event.

How can I sponsor the Startup Riot JOIN?
